1. Who I am
This website (https://mehedyhassan.com) is operated by Mehedy Hassan, a freelance WordPress and Laravel developer based in Bangladesh. In this policy, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Mehedy Hassan. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email me at hello@mehedyhassan.com.
2. Information I collect
Information you give me. When you send a message through the contact form or by email, I receive your name, email address, your message and any project details you choose to share.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the server that hosts this site keeps basic log data, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested and the date and time of the request.
Spam protection. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a visitor is a real person. To do this it may process your IP address and some browser information.
Website analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site (for example, which pages are popular). It collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. I use this information only in aggregate to improve the website. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
3. How I use your information
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and deliver a project you have asked me to do
- To keep the website secure and protect it from spam and abuse
- To understand how the site is used and make it better
I do not sell your personal information. I do not send marketing emails unless you have asked me to.
4. Third-party services
This site relies on a few services that may process some of your data:
- Fluent Forms (WordPress plugin): your contact form submission is stored in this site’s database and sent to my email.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: spam and bot protection on the contact form.
- Google Analytics: measures how visitors use the site. Google may process data such as your IP address, device and browser details and the pages you view.
- Google Fonts: the site’s text font is loaded from Google’s servers, so your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google.
- Web hosting provider: the site is hosted on a server that stores the website files, database and server logs.
- Upwork: the site links to my Upwork profile. If you follow that link, Upwork’s own privacy policy applies.
These services have their own privacy policies, and I encourage you to read them.
5. Cookies
This site itself uses only the cookies WordPress needs to work, for example when I am logged in to manage the site. Third-party services, such as Cloudflare Turnstile, may set cookies or use local storage to do their job. Google Analytics also sets cookies to recognise returning visitors.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features, such as the contact form, may not work properly if you block everything.
6. How long I keep your information
I keep enquiry messages and project correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to keep records of work I have done, normally no longer than 24 months after our last contact. You can ask me to delete your information earlier at any time.
7. Your rights
You can ask me to:
- tell you what personal information I hold about you
- correct information that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop using your information in a particular way
Email hello@mehedyhassan.com and I will reply within a reasonable time. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region with data protection laws (such as GDPR), you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. International data transfers
I am based in Bangladesh, and the services listed above may process data in other countries. By using this site and contacting me, you understand that your information may be transferred and stored outside your own country.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and I keep WordPress and its plugins updated. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This website is intended for business clients and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Links to other websites
This site may link to other websites. I am not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
